VASER Liposuction (Fat Removal)

VASER liposuction is an ultrasound technology that is used as a less invasive way (compared to traditional liposuction) to remove stubborn body fat. It is a gentler form of liposuction, however only experienced and skilled plastic surgeons should do this procedure under controlled conditions of a fully equipped hospital (not at a clinic).

Vaser Liposuction is right for you if you have areas of stubborn body fat, but otherwise are a healthy person. You have to understand though that Vaser Liposuction has its limitations. Fat can be removed at several areas of the body, but the amount of fat that can be removed is less than with Power Assisted Liposuction (PAL).  During your first consultation or during email consultation (we can also arrange for a video call with the surgeon) it will be explained if VASER liposuction is right for you.

Can Vaser liposuction be done at several body areas at the same time?

Yes, that can be done. In fact, many patients request that and our plastic surgeons have been treating patients in multiple body areas at the same time with great results. This results in an overall slimmer shape of your body.

If you gain weight again, it will be distributed over your body, the same as before VASER liposuction.  However, the fat cells that have been removed are gone and will not return. Keep this in mind and fight future weight gain with a healthy diet and exercise.

VASER Liposuction - Pre Operative Care

In order to avoid complications the surgeon needs to know about any and all medications that you are taking. That also includes supplements. Before your travel to Thailand we will enquire about your medical condition and any possible allergies.

Some medications can cause complications and excess bleeding during surgery. Please inform us if your taking Brufen or Aspirin. You must stop taking those medications minimum two weeks prior vaser liposuction.

Smoking can affect your reaction to the anesthetic and slow down the healing process. You should stop smoking minimum two weeks before vaser liposuction.

Please inform your surgeon if you have hypertension (high blood pressure).

After VASER Liposuction

Vaser liposuction

After your Vaser Liposuction procedure there can be pain and swelling. You will be given intravenous antibiotics and pain reliever while in the hospital. More oral medication will be given when you are discharged from the hospital.

Drink plenty of water, rest and avoid salt as this can increase the swelling.

You will have to wear a special compression garment for the first week at all times, also when sleeping. From the second week onwards you can take it of at night.

If there are any drains, keep them in place. You doctor will explain to you how to take care after your VASER liposuction.
