Eyelid surgery is a simple procedure and therefore done quick and inexpensive.

Before Eyelid Surgery
Although eyelid surgery is a relatively simple procedure, your surgeon needs to know about medication that you may take (that also includes supplements). When you fill in the medical questionnaire please mention if you are having any allergies.
Some medications can cause complications and excess bleeding during surgery. Please inform us if your taking Brufen or Aspirin. You must stop taking those medications minimum two weeks before eyelid surgery.
Smoking interferes with the healing of the skin and can interfere with the anesthesia. You should stop smoking 2 weeks before eyelid surgery.
Please inform us beforehand if your are having hypertension (high blood pressure).
After Eyelid Surgery
After eyelid surgery there will be a dressing placed on the eyelid which is fixed in place with tape. A normal saline solution is applied to the dressing. You must continue doing this for 3 days. Tip: keep the saline solution in the fridge so it is very cold. This will help with the swelling and with any discomfort. Apply cold (medical ice packs) for 3 days. After that warm compressions will speed up the healing process.
Most patients are saying that there feel only very little or even no pain.
Stitches will be removed after 5-7 days.
Although you will take antibiotics to avoid any infection, be careful with sweating and when showering.

Risks and Complications
All surgical procedures carry some risk. The highest risk is infection which can be eliminated when taking oral antibiotics. Since each individual is different, your surgeon can only inform you of any possible complications for your particular eyelid surgery.
